High-profile speakers feature in a strong line-up at UK EO Week from 06 September, an essential event in the lead-up to COP26

Just one registration provides access to three major national conferences – our hosts National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO), the Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society (RSPSoc) and the Centre for Earth Observation Instrumentation (CEOS). The theme is Supporting climate and environmental sustainability through Earth Observation science.

The virtual event will bring together world leading scientists and technologists in Earth Observation to discuss climate, environmental science, missions and innovation.

John Remedios, Director of NCEO and Space4Climate Board member, says:

“We have an exciting line-up of speakers and will be holding special sessions on climate and COP26, health and the pandemic and disaster management, including sessions for early and mid-career scientists.”

Space4Climate is running a session on EO Services and likely impacts on Friday, 10 September 9.30-11.00, chaired by our Climate Services development Manager, Briony Turner, and featuring short presentations by representatives of our task groups.

Many of our members are taking part in the week-long event including Iain Woodhouse of the University of Edinburgh and Earth Blox who will give the opening keynote. The closing event, on Friday morning, features Paul Monks, Chief Scientific Advisor of BEIS and Toni Tolker-Nielsen, Acting Director of ESA EO Programmes.
